Online application

Before you apply at the University of St. Gallen you have to decide on a degree programme. Read information on the programmes at the Bachelor's level, Master's level and Ph.D. level. Visit our Open Days.

Please note that the application period and admission conditions vary according to the degree programme. Go to the admission page of your desired programme and find out when it is.

Alternative programme

Only if you apply online for SIM, MBF, MiQE/F, MOK, MIA before 31 March you have the option to specify an alternative programme in your application. You may choose one of the following programmes: MBI, MiMM, MUG, MAccFin, MEcon.

Only if in the selection process your application is rejected, will your application be checked again. If all formal admission requirements are fulfilled for the chosen alternative programme, the admission process starts for this alternative programme.

A checklist of the documents you have to submit electronically can be found on the admissions page of the desired course programme. Please note that documents can only be submitted via the online application tool.

You will need a SWITCH edu-ID to apply online. If you do not yet have a SWITCH edu-ID, create one using your personal and permanently valid e-mail address (not a school or university address).

You can then use the SWITCH edu-ID login data to log in to your online application user account.

You can apply online for your desired programme as soon as the relevant application period starts. The online form is four pages long. You can log off at any time and continue filling in the form at a later time. Note tant the entered data is only saved once you continue to the next page.

As long as the application period for the desired course programme is still open, you can submit your application by successfully paying the application fee of CHF 250 online. Accepted means of payment are PostFinance Card and credit cards (VISA and MasterCard). You will not be able to make any changes to the online form once you have submitted it.

You will receive a confirmation email upon successful payment. The application status of your online application will then update to "received - being processed" and the payment status in your status overview to "paid". If it does not automatically update, then forward the confirmation mail (order confirmation) to registration.support@unisg.ch.

The application fee must be paid for each application and is non-refundable - neither in the case of acceptance nor in the case of rejection of the application for a study place.

Please log into your user account regularly to check the status of your application. If we need further information or documents, we will inform you directly via your account’s status overview page. The status overview page will inform you of any documents you still need to upload or replace. Upload the requested documents and submit these using the "Submit" button.
